The Ishababies® Story…
Ishababies® were created by Aisha Bailey – a pediatric medical student who saw “the beauty in all children and wanted those children to see the beauty in all people”. To make the uniqueness of each Ishababies® character most appealing, she created them in ‘flavors’ with a girl and boy pair in each one. Aisha’s mantra of “One World….All Flavors” helped her create Ishababies® characters (16 and counting) with a wide range of hair colors and skin tones. Also, each one has a 100% cotton exterior with Aisha’s stitched signature for authentication. Turbinado was the first Ishababies® flavor to debut. Coco, Marigold, Peach, and Caramel came next with Mocha, Poppy, and ChocoChip soon afterward. In every case, she made each individual girl and boy Ishababies® character a ‘star’ in its own right with its own unique design. By doing so, she created a uniquely blended cast of characters who could be seen as friends from both near and far away. It didn’t take long to see that kids really loved their Ishababies®. The combined look, touch and feel of each one made them fun to hold and irresistible to cuddle. During their first year on the market, the reactions started to pour in from moms, dads, and grandparents who told us their daughters, sons, and grandchildren loved their Ishababies® and couldn’t put them down. In story after story, we heard that kids identified heavily with the full range of characters – whether they looked like them or not. As popularity grew, reactions began to roll in from college students, adults, and seniors who started to collect them for themselves. As Aisha progressed through Medical School, her mom and dad joined the effort to manage day-to-day operations.
